Anyone Ready for an Update?

Okay, I know it's been almost forever since I updated this thing, there has just been a lot going on, and like I've said before being on the computer is not one of my favorite things. I suppose I"ll start with Lance and work my way down to Mia.

Lance- Is still a wonderful Husband and father, he is still with UoP and just got a new manager and is liking things a lot better his old one was getting some pressure put on her and in turn was making things pretty miserable for everyone around her, but this new manager seems to be great and just what Lance needs.
His calling at church is with the Adventure Scouts, so he works with all the priests and one teacher who has his Eagle already, there are only 3 boys total but Lance has a really good time with them, sometimes randomly they will show up at our house at night just to hang out with Lance, last Wed. 2 of them came and we all went to sonic and took advantage of their $1 large drink/slush deal. It was fun to see how Lance really cares for the boys and their well being. I also think that's kinda cool that he has that kind of relationship with his guys that they feel like they can just show up like that.
Lance is also busy house hunting, that's right, we are going to buy a house! I'm so excited, because he has all this special access through his investing stuff to foreclosure lists and the MLS he finds the houses, I give them the O.K. then we go look at them together, so far we have put offers in on 6 houses, and have finally had one accepted, but it is a short sale which means it needs not only the homeowners acceptance (which is what we have) but it also needs the banks approval, and that can take up to 3 weeks (only 2 left to wait) We just looked at another one last night and are putting an offer on it as well today, so this keeps us busy.

Kelli- I am very pregnant, actually does anyone remember what I looked like when I was pregnant with Mia, totally huge and swollen, it was awful. I gained 50 lbs. with her, I only lost 20 lbs, after I had her and so far this pregnancy I have gained -2 lbs. That's right you do see a negative sign, I've lost 2 lbs. and I am not complaining one bit. But I am WAY more tired than I was with Mia, I'm so grateful that she takes a 3 hour nap, because it allows me to take a long nap too. I have 7 weeks left and can not wait!
My callings are as a member of the Enrichment committee, and I am also the food storage specialist assistant, I love them both. in a few days I am doing an enrichment on how to sneak veggies into everyday foods like hamburgers and Popsicles, that's right I have become the average everyday Jessica Seinfeld, I took some of her ideas and mad them my own and my stuff is pretty good, if I don't say so myself. If you want to see some recipes or anything, just let me know and I"ll do a post about it.

Mia- Is lovely, sweet, happy, sassy, and 2. She is finally starting to talk more, I was getting worried for a while, but I can tell already that someday (probably soon) I'll just want her to stop talking. She is not potty trained, not for lack of trying though, we have tried several times with Zero success, so in the mean time we keep buying diapers. Some of her loves are water, it doesn't matter where, it could be in a sink with a stool, on the shower ore tub, splash park ore pool, she just loves water. When ever I put her swimsuit on her he always jumps up and down saying yay, yay, yay. She also loves Nemo & would watch it everyday if I let her, but I can only handle so much so we have broadened her horizons to Little Mermaid, Meet the Robinson's, Tarzan, and Lilo & Stitch which are some of the others she will actually sit through. She has a major sweet tooth, and getting her to eat dinner is almost always a battle. She is super sweet with "beebee buda" (baby brother) I'm not sure if she totally realizes what baby brother is or what it means but she is still very sweet with my belly. She loves to sing, even though we can't understand what she is singing about, and she is starting to play pretend, it is so cute.

That's about it for now I guess, I will put pictures in soon I promise. My mom is sending me some because I don't have any due to my broken camera, but I did get a new one for mothers day, but seem to have misplaced it already.

My first attempt to make Lance's favorite food- Manapua

In Hawaii they make these things called Manapua, and what it is is a steamed bun with "stuff" inside, usually the Hawaiian ones have BBQ pork, we got our hands on this Vietnamese recipe, and made some changes to accommodate a few of the things we had and made these Manapuas. They were soooo good. You roll out a small piece of dough, add your fixins, (I used leftover ground turkey sloppy Joe meat, added a slice of smoked sausage, a slice of hard boiled egg, and a slice of mushroom.) then you just wrap it all in your dough then steam it in a steamer (I used a rice cooker/steamer) Yum Yum Yum, I just may have to do these again soon, we had these like 8 months ago. My dough didn't rise like it should have, but it was still delish!

Bu Bye

We have officially said good bye to the beloved Binky. Well actually we did it a couple months ago, but, I'm not very good a keeping you all updated on the happenings around here so...two months ago we officially said good bye to the Binky. It was a sad sad day. I was really dreading taking it away it made her so happy , and things so easy for me, and Mia's doctor told me at her 15mo. appointment that by 18 months I should take it away. Well I had every intention of letting her have it until she was 2, but then I got pregnant and when the baby is born she will be 2 and 2 mo. so, I decided so that it didn't seem like I was taking her Binky away from her to give it to the baby, I would take it way sooner not at 18 months but 19/20 , so that is what I did. I got the Idea to cut the tip of it off so that she would decide she didn't like it anymore from my cousin. (Thanks Lins) It worked like a charm...sort of... She put it in her mouth and immediately took it out and started spitting, then handed it to me and very sadly said bee bee (which is how she says Binky) and that was it, she never wanted it again. Putting her to bed used to be so easy, no crying nothing, just give her her Binky and all was well. I got to a point where I would only give it to her at nap and bed times, so I think sometimes she was more than happy to get into her bed, just so she could have her Binky. But now even still she cries and cries, or sometimes screams when we put her in bed, usually just for a minute or less, but sometimes it will be for what seems like forever (like 5 or even 10 min.) So bed times are still a little rough, but even if we are at someone else's house and she finds a Binky, she won't put it in her mouth, she'll come bring it to me and say bee bee.

One is the loneliest number....

I wanted to make this post cute and creative, but because of a combo of busyness, fatigue and a broken camera, this will have to do, because this simply needs to be done.

We are expecting # 2 Aug. 16.

I know a lot of you already know, my dad unofficially announced it in our family letter a while ago, and I know my mom is so excited, she has been telling everyone. I'm only 16 weeks but I look like I'm 20-25, so everyone in my ward knows, but for those of you who didn't... now you do.

We found out on Monday that it's a boy and we're really excited. I'm a little nervous, because I only know girl so far, and I have brothers, or I guess I should say I have a Jeffrey brother. (anyone who knows him, knows what I mean ;o)) And now this also means I have to get all new stuff, well at least clothes. We tried to pick things like the car seat & stroller, that were gender neutral, so we're in pretty good shape.

Happy Anniversary in Sedona

BEAUTIFUL SEDONA ARIZONA

So Lance and I aren't very big Valentines Day people, but we usually try to go all out for our anniversary. Every year we switch off who is in charge of planning it, and usually it is a surprise for the other person what we are doing, or where we are going. Last year Lance surprised me and took me to a B&B up in the mountains in AZ, the place was very beautiful, but my recommendation is unless you have to...don't stay at a bed and breakfast, we felt like we were staying a t a strangers house, it was weird. So this year was my turn to plan. I surprised Lance with a trip to Sedona. It was beautiful! Along with our hotel reservation I bought a "Romance Package" it included 2 tickets for an off roding Jeep tour, a $50 gift card for a very nice restaurant, That didn't 'cover out tab, we had an appetizer, a steak dinner for two, and 1 desert, we had to pay $6 out of our pocket, but that was fine and the package also included 2 Mugs. -romantic don't you think? Not so much, but what ev. I also made a reservation for a couples massage, it was a first for both of us, and I totally recommend it. (kinda pricey though)We had tons of fun, there are thousands of touristy shops, hundreds of great places to eat, the scenery is amazing, beautiful red rocks. We want to go back again and this time go camping and do some hiking and stuff.

here we are on our"pink jeep tour" it was sooooo cold & I for got to pack Lance a sweatshirt, so we were scrambling around trying to find one at the last minute that wasn't like $50. I only had a sweater because I happened to be waring one when we left the house.

If you know lance this won't surprise you at all, he loves to make everything we do a surprise for me, so even though it was my turn to surprise Lance he couldn't' help himself. I had told him that I was spending a lot of money for our trip and it was for both of us, so I said don't get me a gift. Our room had a Jacuzzi tub (this picture is just for your entertainment -it's Lance by the way.)

and lance lit some candles and "tricked" me into taking a bath, when I got out our room was covered in paper roses, (because we couldn't afford real ones) one for every day we've been married. He'd been working on them for months at work while he talked to his students on the phone. Anyway he hid 2 pieces of jewelry in 2 of the roses & I had to pick them up one by one to find them. Sorry it's not a good pic. but the room was literally covered in these flowers.

I Know I look awesome, but I had just gotten out of a huge bubbling bath tub. It was a lot of fun.

Here are my rewards. Lance is always so thoughtful, I love him tons. Happy 3 years to us.

A Couple Crafty Items

Here are some of the things I have been working on in Mia's room.
This is just some paper mache letters that I covered in scrap book paper, & decorated with other some other stuff, I am pleased with how it came out.


And this is her light. We got it from Ikea and I painted it. I painted the bands (or what ever you want to call them) Green because originally it was going to be a vine with flowers & stuff on it but both Lance & Nate didn't like that idea, so it ended up splattered, had that been my original plan I wouldn't have chosen green I would have gone with purple. But you can't win them all. I've had some fun trying to decorate her room, I've framed a few things (not crafty & therefore not blog worthy) and I picked out a super cute comforter, but it will have to wait until she is out of the crib and in a big girl bed. Which by the way reminds me,when should I take her out of the crib? Then when I do that how do I get her to stay in her bed? Any mom's have any advise?

We got the truck back yesterday, it looks great! & I forgot to mention that on top of taking the brunt of the accident they were sighted for making an illegal left turn. Bad day for them, I didn't even get a slap on the wrist for not having my licence with me. One more blessing for me that day I guess. Thank you for all your concern, it was probably the worst day of my whole life, but I am doing just fine now.
