So I'm here in California with my sister and we have said a couple times to each other "I never thought I would ever say that" while talking to our kids. What are some things you have said since you've become a mom, that you never thought you would ever have to say?

OK some of these pictures are a few months old, but living with Mia is still the same now as it was then.

Lance and I have never bought (or given) her a baby doll, but somehow she has managed to be the proud owner/mama to 5! Thanks mostly to grandparents (mom!)They are everywhere! Along with Jace's toys she has a doll highchair, stroller, and pack 'n play, she feeds her babies, and takes them for walks around the house, then puts them to bed and whispers to me "shhh, bebes seeping."

We love this girl!

Alrighty, I have a few things to touch on in this post:

Jace Thomas Thorson is here...and he's 5 months old

First Things First

This is the last Pic. I have of me pregnant, we watched Sandlot at Chase Stadium with The Somes Family, it was a ton of fun, but this post is about being pregnant.

At the hospital. Once again if any of you saw me pregnant with Mia, this is as huge improvement.

And here's my tiny...Huge baby Jace. He was 9lbs. 2 oz. and fabulous.

I honestly couldn't have asked for a better baby, Jace has been sleeping through the night since he was 2 mo. old, now he sleeps from 6:30pm or 7pm until 6:30am or 7am, it doesn't get much better than that. He has these big eyes that sometimes look like they may be brown, but mostly look like they may go blue, but what ever the color, they are very intense. I love Mia more than I ever thought I could or would, but the bond between a mom and her little boy is something pretty special. I wouldn't trade him for the world.

He's 5 1/2 months old now and weighs probably 20 lbs, and is 27 in. He's a giant.
I know he has a messy face, He recently started solids, and is loving it, just like his sister did, this particular mess is blueberries.

This time around I am making my own baby food. I am trying to make healthier choices for my family and have found that Mia is incredibly picky, I hope that by doing this Jace won't be as picky as Mia is. We'll see if it works.

Because Mia has been in the. 90% since she was 3 mo. old we really hoped that our boy would be big too. For Mia we didn't want her to have to be all grown up and be bigger than her brother (I know how that feels, love you Nate) and for Jace we didn't want him to be all grown up and be smaller than his sister. Well, I guess we won't have to worry about that, he's in the 97%.

He's almost as tall as her.

I know he's wearing a bag, but i tucked it so that his feet are at the bottom. Jace is 27" Mia is 36". at 5 mo. he's not even a foot shorter than his 2 1/2 year old sister!

And a bigger belly, not really, it just looks like it in this picture, he's not fat, he just looks like he's
7 or 8 months old rather than 5.

Guess What this is...

It's a random guy with the biggest wedgie I have ever seen, his boxers were so far up his bum, that you cloud see the top of his tush! The picture really doesn't do it justice, there was so much fabric up there, I don't know how he could not notice. It was like that for about 2 hours.

Anyone Ready for an Update?

Okay, I know it's been almost forever since I updated this thing, there has just been a lot going on, and like I've said before being on the computer is not one of my favorite things. I suppose I"ll start with Lance and work my way down to Mia.

Lance- Is still a wonderful Husband and father, he is still with UoP and just got a new manager and is liking things a lot better his old one was getting some pressure put on her and in turn was making things pretty miserable for everyone around her, but this new manager seems to be great and just what Lance needs.
His calling at church is with the Adventure Scouts, so he works with all the priests and one teacher who has his Eagle already, there are only 3 boys total but Lance has a really good time with them, sometimes randomly they will show up at our house at night just to hang out with Lance, last Wed. 2 of them came and we all went to sonic and took advantage of their $1 large drink/slush deal. It was fun to see how Lance really cares for the boys and their well being. I also think that's kinda cool that he has that kind of relationship with his guys that they feel like they can just show up like that.
Lance is also busy house hunting, that's right, we are going to buy a house! I'm so excited, because he has all this special access through his investing stuff to foreclosure lists and the MLS he finds the houses, I give them the O.K. then we go look at them together, so far we have put offers in on 6 houses, and have finally had one accepted, but it is a short sale which means it needs not only the homeowners acceptance (which is what we have) but it also needs the banks approval, and that can take up to 3 weeks (only 2 left to wait) We just looked at another one last night and are putting an offer on it as well today, so this keeps us busy.

Kelli- I am very pregnant, actually does anyone remember what I looked like when I was pregnant with Mia, totally huge and swollen, it was awful. I gained 50 lbs. with her, I only lost 20 lbs, after I had her and so far this pregnancy I have gained -2 lbs. That's right you do see a negative sign, I've lost 2 lbs. and I am not complaining one bit. But I am WAY more tired than I was with Mia, I'm so grateful that she takes a 3 hour nap, because it allows me to take a long nap too. I have 7 weeks left and can not wait!
My callings are as a member of the Enrichment committee, and I am also the food storage specialist assistant, I love them both. in a few days I am doing an enrichment on how to sneak veggies into everyday foods like hamburgers and Popsicles, that's right I have become the average everyday Jessica Seinfeld, I took some of her ideas and mad them my own and my stuff is pretty good, if I don't say so myself. If you want to see some recipes or anything, just let me know and I"ll do a post about it.

Mia- Is lovely, sweet, happy, sassy, and 2. She is finally starting to talk more, I was getting worried for a while, but I can tell already that someday (probably soon) I'll just want her to stop talking. She is not potty trained, not for lack of trying though, we have tried several times with Zero success, so in the mean time we keep buying diapers. Some of her loves are water, it doesn't matter where, it could be in a sink with a stool, on the shower ore tub, splash park ore pool, she just loves water. When ever I put her swimsuit on her he always jumps up and down saying yay, yay, yay. She also loves Nemo & would watch it everyday if I let her, but I can only handle so much so we have broadened her horizons to Little Mermaid, Meet the Robinson's, Tarzan, and Lilo & Stitch which are some of the others she will actually sit through. She has a major sweet tooth, and getting her to eat dinner is almost always a battle. She is super sweet with "beebee buda" (baby brother) I'm not sure if she totally realizes what baby brother is or what it means but she is still very sweet with my belly. She loves to sing, even though we can't understand what she is singing about, and she is starting to play pretend, it is so cute.

That's about it for now I guess, I will put pictures in soon I promise. My mom is sending me some because I don't have any due to my broken camera, but I did get a new one for mothers day, but seem to have misplaced it already.

My first attempt to make Lance's favorite food- Manapua

In Hawaii they make these things called Manapua, and what it is is a steamed bun with "stuff" inside, usually the Hawaiian ones have BBQ pork, we got our hands on this Vietnamese recipe, and made some changes to accommodate a few of the things we had and made these Manapuas. They were soooo good. You roll out a small piece of dough, add your fixins, (I used leftover ground turkey sloppy Joe meat, added a slice of smoked sausage, a slice of hard boiled egg, and a slice of mushroom.) then you just wrap it all in your dough then steam it in a steamer (I used a rice cooker/steamer) Yum Yum Yum, I just may have to do these again soon, we had these like 8 months ago. My dough didn't rise like it should have, but it was still delish!
